Dogs
When planning to bring home a dog, prospective owners often decide which of two similar breeds is better. It's important to consider not only appearance but also character, temperament, and maintenance requirements. At first glance, a Siberian Husky may seem indistinguishable from a Laika, but there are significant differences.
The Cairn Terrier is considered an ancient representative of the hunting terriers. The breed originated in Scotland as the Skye Terrier and was originally used to hunt foxes and badgers. It was only in 1912 that the dog received its current name and official recognition. Beginning in the first half of the 20th century, the breed actively spread throughout Europe and the United States. In Russia, the Cairn only began to gain popularity in the 1990s. Today, the cost of a purebred puppy ranges from $250 to $500.
Dogs have accompanied humans for thousands of years. Today, there are numerous breeds worldwide, but some have disappeared forever. Some died out as a result of wars, when most dogs were exterminated in battle, leaving no one to breed or preserve them. Others simply interbred with other species over time, evolving into new ones. Still others were hunted to extinction by predators.
