Chihuahua

The Chihuahua breed is fairly easy to recognize, as there are no smaller dogs in the world. Those familiar with the breed's origins know that it is named after a Mexican state. These dogs first attracted attention in 1850. Despite their diminutive appearance, they have significantly influenced the development of dog breeding, as they served as the basis for many dwarf breeds.

This miniature dog breed was first observed in ancient North American lands. Legend has it that the first dogs were kept by the ancient Mayan tribes living on the Yucatan, one of the American islands. The Mayan people considered this breed sacred. These tiny, unique creatures served as talismans in most magical rituals.

Even when our ancestors domesticated dogs, they were offered human food scraps, supplemented with what they had hunted. This provided a balanced diet for dogs. Today, this is no longer possible for domestic dogs. Their owners are entirely responsible for their feeding.
