Russia and its neighboring countries boast some of the most remarkable fauna. Where else in Europe or Asia can one find such a diversity of species? One of the most captivating and memorable birds is the white crane, or Siberian crane. This species reaches a height of one and a half meters, with a wingspan of just over two meters. And its beak stands out against the snow-white feathers with a dazzling red color. All this combined makes cranes one of the most memorable birds.

The hazel grouse is a well-known forest bird found throughout Eurasia. It is currently protected by the state and is listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

The hazel grouse is known to belong to a separate genus, Bonasa, which is part of the grouse family. This bird is small, slightly larger than a pigeon. Its weight can range from 300 to 500 grams.
