There's a harmless condition called vitiligo, which causes pigmentation disorders and the appearance of white spots on the skin. This occurs when the body's immune system malfunctions and begins to attack its own color-producing cells (melanocytes). Animals with vitiligo develop incredible colors.
Scrappy
This cat had a completely normal black color even at the age of five.
But at the age of 7, more and more white spots began to be noticed on her fur.
Ellie
Ellie was also born with a regular black and white coat, also known as a "tuxedo" coat.
A year later, her fur began to change color. White spots appeared on her black coat, and over time, their number increased.
When the cat was brought to the veterinarian for an examination, it turned out that Ellie had a rare disease that affects 1% of people.
Vitiligo does not bother the animal in any way, and the spots only add to its charm.
A cat with symmetrical coloring
This cat has lost pigment from his nose and ears.
Dogs with vitiligo
Without the disease, she would be a very ordinary dachshund.
Here is another dog with an original color.
And this is a Dalmatian in reverse. Unusual white snowflakes on a black background.
Other animals
Sometimes the white spots aren't so beautifully arranged. It looks like the predator has stuck its head in a sack of flour. But in the future, this lioness will turn white and become an albino.
The speckled penguin apparently decided to repaint his tuxedo in more modern shades.
This bird's outfit has also been given a bit of variety.
An unusual sea turtle with white speckles.
And this giraffe looked like the paint on his neck had faded from the scorching sun.
This coloring also gives the crocodile a unique look; it looks beautiful and unusual.
Looking at these animals, you might think the artist ran out of ink, but even with these colors, they look charming and unusual.
