Many cat lovers simply can't imagine life without these furry purrs in the house. Cats become true members of the family. Owners buy them their own dishes, sleeping beds, and toys, but sometimes their pets behave very strangely. They prefer to play with empty boxes and sleep at their owner's feet rather than in a cozy house. There are several explanations for this behavior.
Energy version
Cats spend most of their day sleeping. Owners often report that their furry friends come to sleep in their bed, settling at their feet rather than anywhere else. There are several theories regarding this behavior.
The first theory is energetic. Bioenergetics experts believe that people draw cosmic energy through their heads, which then spreads throughout the body. As the energy flows from top to bottom, some of it loses its positive charge, becoming negative. All negative energy leaves a person through the legs.
Cats are believed to feed on negative energy. They are able to transform it into positive energy without harming their own health. Since cats are very sensitive animals, they intuitively locate areas of negative energy on the human body and cleanse them. According to bioenergetics experts, the greatest accumulation of negative energy in humans is located in the feet, which is why cats prefer to nest there. Thanks to their ability to absorb negativity, cats heal damaged areas of a person's aura, thereby restoring the energy field.
Love of warmth
Veterinarians and zoologists offer another explanation for why cats prefer to sleep at their owner's feet rather than on a soft bed. Experts believe this behavior is due to the fact that cats crave warmth and, in search of the most comfortable spot, head to their owner's bed.
Indeed, cats are very warm-loving animals. They are constantly looking for a warm, secluded spot to rest. In winter, they can often be seen lying on radiators. Many owners even place special hammocks for their cats so they can sleep in a warm place. While cats can lie down near a radiator, on a windowsill, or even on a chair, they choose their sleeping location more carefully.
Since cats become virtually motionless when they fall into deep sleep, they try to find a dry, warm, and cozy spot in advance. In most cases, there's no better option than curling up next to their owner's feet in their soft bed. Young kittens, who haven't yet fully adjusted to the big world without their mother cat, try to find the most secure spot possible. Lying at a person's feet, for example, is a way for kittens to feel safe.
Identifying painful areas
Since ancient times, there has been a belief that cats are excellent healers. They are able to locate sore spots on their owner's body and, by settling down nearby, heal them. Some believe in this kind of alternative medicine, while others, on the contrary, consider such assumptions to be a fantasy with no scientific basis.
From a medical perspective, this theory can be explained by the fact that during the development of a disease in the human body, an inflammatory process is often observed, which is associated with an increase in body temperature. Since cats are very sensitive and react immediately to heat, they can find such areas on their owner's body and settle near them. Therefore, if a cat settles near the owner's feet, it is possible that a health problem is occurring in that particular area, although cats may also find other spots near the person.
