Insects in the home are a major problem for people, as they can carry various microorganisms and bacteria that can cause dangerous diseases when they enter the body. Some arthropods can bite and even parasitize humans and pets. However, their small size makes it very difficult to determine the cause of the injury, whether it's an insect bite or simply some other allergic reaction. Worst of all, arthropods reproduce very quickly, so they must be repelled or destroyed as soon as they are noticed.

Toxicity classes of insect repellents
Before choosing an insect repellent, it's important to familiarize yourself with toxicity classes. There are four of them:
- Extremely hazardous: used only in warehouses. Re-enter the premises after prolonged ventilation.
- Highly hazardous: they cause poisoning and are prohibited for use in food products against pests. These are most often fenthion-based products.
- Moderately hazardous: low toxicity to warm-blooded animals, but extremely hazardous to cold-blooded animals. After treatment, it is necessary to remove all amphibians, reptiles and fish from the apartment until it is completely ventilated. Some insects have developed “immunity” to drugs of this class.
- Low-hazard: they break down within 5-7 days after treatment. Their active ingredient is most often avermectin (a natural neurotoxin).
Regular table salt belongs to the third toxicity class.
Fumigators
One of the easiest-to-use forms of insect repellents is fumigators. They primarily contain the following insecticides:
- Pyrethrins. Derived from plants (chamomile, tansy, and others), they are safe for humans and animals. They affect the nervous system of insects upon ingestion. They are also rapidly destroyed by sunlight. It's worth noting that many insects have developed immunity to pyrethrins.
- Pyrethroids. Synthetic insecticides that are the least toxic to humans of all chemical insect repellents. They work on the same principle as pyrethrins.
There are three types of fumigators:
- Electric. The safest and most convenient to use. They are effective against flying insects, which have a weak chitinous shell. The substance does not penetrate the tough body shell of crawling arthropods.
- Pyrotechnic spirals. They are safe for plants and effective against all insects. However, the high concentration of insecticides does not allow the use of these devices indoors: there is a risk of poisoning.
- Water-based. Insecticide vapors are more resistant to air and sunlight. They spread throughout the entire area, filling all cracks and openings. This type of device is recommended for use in small spaces. Water-based fumigators are effective against all insects because the substance remains on surfaces for a long time.
Fumigators are used primarily against flying insects, as the active ingredients disintegrate relatively quickly in the air. This means there is virtually no contact with crawling arthropods.
The rules for using fumigators are as follows:
- Electric. Simply use the product for 2-3 hours before bedtime, then turn it off. This is enough to rid the room of a small number of flying insects. If there are many, leave the fumigator on overnight, but ensure there's access to fresh air.
- Pyrotechnics. To use the product, light one end of the coil (it doesn't matter which) and then extinguish it so it smolders. This spreads the toxic substances.
- Aquafumigators. The active ingredient (usually cyphenothrin) and reagent included in the kit should be placed in a special container. This container should then be placed in another container, into which water is added. This initiates a thermal reaction, producing vapors that spread throughout the room.
Cyphenothrin is a powerful nerve agent that disrupts the insect's nervous system, causing paralysis and eventually death. This agent has no effect on humans.
Fumigators are considered the safest for humans, but the following precautions must be taken to avoid insecticide poisoning:
- When using the product for the first time, pay close attention to the condition of each family member and pets (especially cold-blooded animals, as they are most sensitive to insecticides). If any discomfort or changes in behavior are observed, discontinue use of the fumigators.
- Only those preparations that come with a fire certificate may be used.
- The room must be well ventilated.
- As with any electrical appliance, do not touch the fumigator with wet hands.
- The plates for this type of electrical device must be positioned horizontally, not protruding or hanging down. If the device contains liquid, do not allow it to spill out of the container.
- Avoid placing the device near a bed. The optimal distance between a person and the device is 1 meter.
- Children should not be left alone with the fumigator.
- When using a water device, you should leave the room for 2-3 hours.
Aquafumigator Raptor
The water-based fumigator Raptor is based on cyphenothrin, which does not decompose upon exposure to air. It is classified as a Class III hazard.

An aquafumigator works in the same way as an insect fogger, but this device is significantly cheaper.
The aquafumigator produces vapors that fill absolutely every space (even cracks in walls) without damaging surfaces. After the particles settle, a film remains that kills insects on contact, even some time after treatment.

The Raptor aquafumigator is capable of destroying an entire colony of cockroaches in two treatments.
The aquafumigator works not only on young and adult flies, but also on their eggs. However, not all of them are killed immediately, so a repeat treatment is necessary three weeks after the initial treatment.
Electric fumigator Raid
The advantage of the Raid water fumigator over other insect repellents is that it can be used both indoors and outdoors. This is because the active ingredients (prallethrin and d-phenothrin) do not decompose upon exposure to air. This product is classified as moderately hazardous.
Spiral
The coil is a highly toxic substance (hazard class 2), so it can only be used outdoors. The smoldering device must be placed 1–3 meters away from people. This distance is sufficient to protect humans from the insecticide's effects and to prevent mosquitoes and other flying and crawling insects from disturbing them. The active ingredient is d-allethrin, which disrupts the nervous system, causing paralysis of the arthropod's muscles and organs, ultimately resulting in death.
The smoke from the coil has a subtle odor that effectively repels insects. The harmful vapors penetrate the pest's respiratory tract, accumulate, and kill it.
The pyrotechnic fumigator lasts for 8 hours. During this time, it releases the same amount of harmful substances into the environment as 80–130 cigarettes.
Aerosols and sprays
Aerosols are another very convenient form of insect repellent. The insecticide is released under pressure through a special valve in the form of a jet. The tiny particles of the product quickly settle on surfaces. If even a small amount of the product comes into contact with an insect, it quickly penetrates its chitinous covering and disrupts its functioning, leading to its death. The specific area of action depends on the active ingredient used. Most often, it disrupts the nervous system.
Sprays are only effective for a week, after which the product disintegrates and requires re-treatment. Furthermore, these products are rarely effective against eggs, as the toxin concentration is not high enough to penetrate the shell.
Vapors of the substance can enter the human body and cause poisoning, therefore, when handling aerosols, it is necessary to use protective equipment: a respirator and gloves.
Before treating the premises it is necessary:
- Conduct a general cleaning, especially in areas where household waste accumulates and in remote corners (under the bathtub, behind the toilet, behind the refrigerator, under cabinets, and so on).
- Remove all open sources of water, which insects need to survive.
- Keep children, pets, and houseplants out of the house for at least a few hours. If you have an aquarium or terrarium, make sure it has a tightly sealed lid; any insecticide is deadly to fish, amphibians, and reptiles.
- Remove all dishes, kitchen utensils, food (both yours and that of your pets, if any), personal hygiene products, and children's and pets' toys.
- Put on a respirator and gloves.
- Ensure cross-ventilation or, conversely, close the windows - see the instructions for using the selected product.
Once all this is done, you can begin treatment. To do this, spray the product 25–40 cm away from surfaces where insects are most likely to crawl. Treat areas where they are likely to be present, as well as those with many cracks and openings through which these unwanted "neighbors" can enter the house.
On average, the procedure takes 15-20 minutes, after which you need to leave the room for an hour and a half.Upon returning, thoroughly ventilate the apartment to eliminate any lingering odor. Be sure to clean all surfaces that were treated.
Important! If you have small children or pets in the house, you'll need to wash everything, as the product could accidentally ingest and cause severe poisoning.

Pets, like small children, try everything with their teeth, so after treatment, everything must be washed thoroughly.
Surfaces must be washed with warm water and soda or soap, preferably with laundry soap.
Clean house
Clean House Spray is based on two powerful insecticides:
- Cypermethrin (13%). Affects the insect's nervous system, causing paralysis of muscles and internal organs, resulting in death.
- Tetramethrin (2.5%). Paralyzes the motor system and blocks all nerve impulses, enhancing the effect of cypermethrin.
Spraying the product once on floors and insect-prone areas (wallpaper, cabinets, behind the stove, etc.) is sufficient. Despite its powerful formula, it is classified as a hazard class 4 pesticide. It kills all types of insects.
Battalion commander
Combat is effective against many arthropods living near humans and their eggs. It has a pleasant lemon scent, which repels new "guests." Its active ingredients are tetramethrin (0.3%) and permethrin (0.1%). The latter inhibits the polarization of insect nerve cells, leading to paralysis and eventually death. The drug belongs to the third class of toxicity.
Raid
Raid aerosol is effective against all types of insects, but its effectiveness is limited. For example, against flies, the product is effective for 24 hours, while against mosquitoes, it lasts up to two weeks. The product is classified as hazard class III.
Aerosol composition:
- Cypermethrin (0.1%). Paralyzes insects and is most effective within 24 hours of spraying.
- Prallethrin (0.03%). Provides additional paralyzing effect.
- Imiprothrin. Enhances the effectiveness of insecticides.
Get
Get is a product designed to kill bed bugs (but also works on other insects).
The active ingredient is chlorpyrifos, which blocks the insect's nerve impulses, leading to muscle and organ paralysis. Death typically occurs within a few hours. The product is effective for 180 days, eliminating the need for repeat treatments. Young insects will die from a single application. Get is classified as a Class III toxicity product.
Before using the product, it must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 to 1:20 (depending on the object of destruction) and sprayed on places where insects may live: cracks, baseboards, behind furniture, window sills, windows, ventilation openings, etc. Upholstered furniture can only be treated in the areas where it is attached to the frame; clothing and toys cannot be sprayed.
Dr. Klaus (Insect Super)
Dr. Klaus Insect Super kills all insects both indoors and outdoors: cockchafers, whiteflies, sawflies, cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, and more. It has a toxicity class III rating.
The active ingredient of the product is alphacypermethrin, which paralyzes the victim's nervous system. A distinctive feature is its effect on not only adult insects but also larvae.
The bottle is equipped with a dispenser, making it easy to determine the amount of product to use. Ticks are the most difficult to kill: they require the largest amount of product: 150 ml per 100 square meters. To rid an area of other insects, a third of that amount is required.
This product should be sprayed on grass, trees, into cracks in houses, and simply into the air. The effect of the substance begins within two days.
Powders
Powders are considered one of the most effective remedies against crawling insects, as they remain stable in the air for several weeks. However, this type of product is practically ineffective against flying arthropods. This is because all powders act by contact, and winged insects very rarely land on surfaces treated with the substance.
Before beginning the treatment, clean the area. All surfaces where the insects' "silk trail" passes should be thoroughly washed. For convenience, move furniture away from the walls during the treatment. If you plan to use the powder in the kitchen, remove all food, water, and utensils, as the tiny particles of the product will remain in the air for some time and can be ingested by humans or animals.
Previously, powder insect repellents were very toxic; now, preparations in this form are most often classified as toxicity class III.

The powders have dirty shades, so you'll have to forget about keeping your floors clean for a while.
Using the powder is very simple: leave a thin trail along baseboards, in cracks, and on other horizontal surfaces where insects crawl (even a small amount is enough to kill large cockroaches or bedbugs if they come into contact with the product). Since particles of the product can become airborne, wear a respirator and gloves before treating the room. There is no need to remove the product; it should remain in the insects' path at all times. It's also worth noting that some powders temporarily lose their effectiveness when exposed to water.
If you have small children or pets in your home, it's best to avoid using powdered insecticides. If the product gets into your body, it can be difficult to avoid poisoning.
Dust Clean House
Clean House powder is developed on the basis of three substances:
- cypermethrin (0.2%);
- tetramethrin (0.02%);
- piperonyl butoxide (10%).
The product is classified as hazard class 3. Experience shows that the dust is effective against ants and cockroaches, but has virtually no effect on bedbugs.
Piperonyl butoxide has weak insecticidal properties, but prolongs the action of cypermethrin and tetramethrin.
Ecokiller
Ecokiller got its name for a reason: its active ingredient is diatomaceous earth, which destroys the insect's chitinous covering upon contact. As a result, the arthropod dies from dehydration. The product is classified as toxicity class 4.
The powder is applied to the surfaces to be treated using a special sprayer. It should be placed as close as possible to all cracks where unwanted "guests" might sneak in. Ecokiller does not repel insects, so if they don't come into contact with the substance, they will continue to move freely. To prevent this, treat all possible passages.
Ecokiller loses its effectiveness for a short time upon contact with water.
Solutions
This category includes products that need to be diluted with water: some powders and liquids. A characteristic feature of this form of drug release is the high toxicity of the “pure” substance (before dilution with water). If used carelessly, these solutions can cause permanent disability. Therefore, the solution must be diluted with water at a high concentration.
The solutions act by contact, so they are not very effective against flying insects (the likelihood of a winged creature landing on a surface treated with an insecticide is very low). However, the products are effective against crawling arthropods.
The premises are treated as follows:
- Remove children, pets, fish and other living creatures from the apartment during the procedure.
- Do a general cleaning, paying special attention to the paths along which insects most often move.
- Remove all dishes, food, water, personal hygiene products, pet bowls, pet food, etc.
- Move all furniture away from the walls to make it easier to apply the composition.
- Put on a respirator and gloves.
- Dilute the product with water (the proportions are indicated in the instructions).
- Pour the substance into a spray bottle for easy application.
- Treat all cracks, baseboards and surfaces where insects move with the resulting spray. Do not apply the substance to items that you use frequently, as it cannot be washed off.If there are children or pets in the house, only treat surfaces they cannot reach.
- Ventilate the room thoroughly.
- After 2-3 hours of treatment, wash all surfaces, as the vapors of the product may have come into contact with them.
The solutions act for several weeks, after which the procedure must be repeated.
Super FAS
Super Fas powder must be diluted with water at a ratio of 1:20. Its active ingredients are cypermethrin and thiamethoxam, which act as nerve agents on insects and enhance each other's effects. This product is classified as a hazard class II product.

After using the water-soluble powder Super Fas, you must thoroughly wash your face and hands with soap.
During the pest control process, all people and animals should be removed from the house. They should not even be in another room, as the fumes can easily penetrate there.
At least two treatments are necessary, as the product does not kill insect eggs. Manufacturers recommend a second treatment after 2-4 weeks, but it can be done a few days after the first. With a second treatment, the concentration of the product will increase, so it is necessary to ventilate the rooms more frequently.
Agran
Agran is another nerve agent developed on the basis of cypermethrin and chlorpyrifos. Paralysis of the insect occurs within a few hours, and death occurs within 1–2 days. In its pure form, the drug is characterized by the third toxicity class, and in diluted form – the fourth.
To use this product, dissolve 5.5 to 8 grams of the substance in one liter of water (depending on the number of insects). Then, mix the mixture thoroughly and pour it into a spray bottle. You can then spray the surfaces, paying particular attention to crevices.
Try not to wash the floors for a month after treatment (if there are animals or small children in the house, this is, of course, impossible).
Gels
Gels differ from other insect repellents in their low toxicity to humans, odorlessness, and high effectiveness. They are gel-like preparations in special syringes. The substance is effective only against crawling insects, as it acts by contact.
The gels contain the following components:
- insecticide;
- fatty substance;
- bait.
Before treatment, wash all surfaces where insects crawl. After they've dried, apply the gel, squeezing small beads from a syringe at intervals of 5-10 cm. It's best to spread the product near cracks, baseboards, and vents. It can also be applied inside cabinets, but there's a high risk of getting your hands in the gel, which could cause an allergic reaction.
The product works like this: the bait attracts several insects. They then absorb the gel, stand in it with their legs, and then calmly wander off to join their fellow insects. This transfers particles of the product, which are then transmitted to other insects. This is how infection occurs. Those individuals that ate the gel die faster, since the concentration of insecticide in their body is significantly higher. The rest die within a few days.
If there are small children or animals in the house, the product must be applied in a place where it is inaccessible.
Brownie
Domovaya Gel is formulated with chlorpyrifos, which causes paralysis when ingested by insects. It is classified as a Class 4 toxicity product.
The product begins to work within the first few days of use. Within a week, the insect population is noticeably reduced, and within a month, they are completely gone. This product is effective for two months, after which treatment can be repeated if necessary.
Crayons
Crayons (or pencils, as they're also called) have been around for a relatively long time and are now rarely used, as they're significantly less effective than other methods. However, this type of insect repellent should be considered separately, as it boasts several positive qualities that outshine even the best insecticides.
The chalk is designed exclusively for controlling crawling arthropods, as it has a contact effect. It is most often used against cockroaches, so it is believed that the product kills them specifically. Whether the product will work against other arthropods (ants, bedbugs) is difficult to say; testing is necessary.
The chalk got its name due to its resemblance to the familiar elongated white block that draws well on various surfaces. The product contains an insecticide that, when it comes into contact with the insect, penetrates its body, causing paralysis and, as a result, death. Death does not occur immediately, so the arthropod manages to transfer the substance on its legs to its fellows, who also receive a “death dose” and die after some time.
The chalk is very easy to use: simply draw a path along which the insects travel with a pencil. The line should be 2–4 cm thick. You can apply the product to any surface (except those you use frequently). There's no need to rinse the product off—it won't work.
When cleaning surfaces, wear gloves and a respirator. Chalk is very fragile, so keep your eyes closed when "drawing" on the ceiling or high on the wall. Any shards can be swept away with a broom or damp cloth; leaving them is not recommended.
Do not use chalk where children or pets can reach it. Ingestion may cause poisoning.
Mashenka
Mashenka Chalk is a product that often outperforms many of the best insecticides. It contains chlorpyrifos, which blocks intestinal function when ingested by insects, and a cementing agent that disrupts the circulatory system. This is what makes it so effective against all crawling arthropods. It has a toxicity class 4 rating.
Insect control product lines of different brands
Some manufacturers have developed entire lines of insect repellent products that vary in composition and toxicity class. Their operating principles are identical.

How to choose the right insect repellent
All insect repellents can be roughly divided into three categories:
- repellent (scare away);
- acaricidal (kill);
- Insecticidal-repellent (they repel with a strong smell and kill upon contact with the insect).
Insects are all around us: outdoors and often inside our homes. Depending on the insects, one group of substances or another is used. To ensure that the products get rid of insects without harming people and their pets, follow these rules:
- In warm weather, before going for a walk (especially outdoors), treat your clothing and personal belongings with repellent products. This group of products is the safest for the human body. The repellent effect is sufficient to keep insects away from you and prevent them from entering your home along with your belongings. Only clothing and personal belongings should be treated; applying most of these products to the body is extremely dangerous.
- To kill insects in your home, use insecticidal repellents. They are gentler and less toxic to humans. The advantage of these products is that they remain on treated surfaces for a long time, preventing the insects from returning to your home.
- If you have a large colony of various arthropods in your home, use acaricides. These are the most powerful and lethal insecticides.
- Use acaricidal treatments against cockroaches to kill both adults and eggs in one go. These insects have a very strong chitinous shell, which only effective treatments can destroy.
- Carefully read the recommended volume of product for each area. The product will not be effective if the area being treated is too large.
If there are animals or small children in the house, the choice of products must be approached with particular caution. All substances remain on surfaces as a thin, invisible film, which can cause poisoning if it enters the body.
Some plants have repellent properties, so they are often used in folk medicine to combat insects. These include cloves, tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender, and camphor.
Reviews
We returned to the apartment a little over three hours after using the Raptor aquafumigator. Opening the door, I saw a foggy haze still lingering. While I ran to open the windows, I managed to breathe in a little, then coughed for several minutes; the smell left a persistent irritation in my throat. We waited another 20 minutes for the fog and smell to clear before entering with the children. Naturally, we inspected the apartment for dead insects. I was pleased to find that there were quite a few. Then I saw a small number of insects trying to crawl along the walls and ceiling, but they were clearly intoxicated and half-dead. We vacuumed them up and killed them completely. At first glance, I liked the result much better than after the apartment had been treated by an exterminator.
Who would have thought that this simple little thing called a fumigator could rid a person of a nightmare—mosquitoes, with their insatiable appetites and ugly squealing in the "victim's" ear! My helper has been with me for almost 15 years now and has never let me down!
We placed two coils at the edges of the table. They emit a light smoke, and the coil slowly smolders. The smell from a smoldering coil is practically imperceptible outdoors, but mosquitoes are wary of it. Of course, a few managed to fly in for our dinner, but they flew away empty-handed. I can't say it's 100% protection—it works great, but the range is limited. If you're having a small gathering outdoors, a coil is just what you need.
But here's how the Clean House aerosol works in direct contact. In terms of immediate action, it usually takes just a few minutes. Those insects that are directly affected by the spray (caught in the "stream") die very quickly. Those that escape die a little later. I usually remove all food from the kitchen, spray everything, lock the door, and tuck a rag underneath to prevent anyone from escaping. After half an hour, I can go, collect the corpses, and clean the kitchen.
I found a nest of cockroaches right under my desk, where the computer's power supply is! Just imagine the horror and disgust I felt when this little bastard appeared on my desk, and then I bent down and saw a whole pack of these impudent little ones there! The can of Combat spray says to spray on insects, their clusters, and suspected habitats. So I decided to test the instantaneous action by aiming the spray directly at them! And you know, it's hard to believe, but the baby cockroaches were dying right before my eyes! In the morning, not a single creature was crawling under my desk! All that was left was to sweep up their corpses with a broom! Victory! The product is toxic! So, be sure to thoroughly ventilate the room after the massacre!
After treating my entire apartment as instructed in the Raid spray, I noticed a large number of tiny corpses in my apartment for the first time and thought I'd managed to defeat them for good. But a couple of days later, the little cockroaches attacked me again. I panicked and decided to go up to my neighbors to ask them to join the fight against these little bastards, as a new batch had come from them. Unfortunately, my neighbors weren't too keen on such a thing. Apparently, they'd become so closely related to the cockroaches that they were no longer disgusted by the insects. So I took my spray can and went back to the neighbors, handing them the product and very earnestly asking them to take up my weapon. The next day, when they returned the can, I gave everything a thorough treatment again. As a result, we've been living together for two weeks now, and I once again feel free from these insects. During this time, I haven't encountered a single pest in my apartment! I'm more than happy with this product, especially because the smell it emits isn't overpowering. It's certainly not an air freshener, but I didn't cough or sneeze while using it, as I sometimes do with other brands.
GET is a product that kills insects. It also stays on surfaces for about six months or more, so your apartment is protected for a long time. I ordered the product and followed the instructions exactly. I was apprehensive about spraying it on the walls the first time, but my fears were unfounded; the product doesn't damage anything. I then left the apartment for the required time. The instructions included everything you need to know, and they can also be found on the GET website. The smell disappeared quickly. But the expected effect didn't occur. I was about to give up hope... I waited and decided to try again. What did I have to lose? Nothing. No big deal. This time I didn't skimp on the life-saving solution; I treated it very thoroughly, no longer worried about the walls or anything else. When I returned to the apartment, the smell was still there. And it lingered for quite a while. And whiskered ones were running past... my hands were down again... But, lo and behold! Gradually, the cockroaches disappeared. Then I found many more corpses, and now for four months (knock on wood) I haven't seen them or found any traces of their presence. I hope it stays that way.
After using Dr. Klaus aerosol, the mosquitoes left, returned a day later, then disappeared, and haven't shown their faces in our neighborhood for several weeks. Our neighbors still have mosquitoes (which suggests the product isn't a super chemical weapon), but they don't fly over the fence—they know ours. We can walk around freely; our baby can't walk yet, so we're not afraid he'll eat some toxic treat. The evenings are in full swing, and I'm in my mosquito-free paradise. I'm happy we took advantage of this advancement of civilization. The flies remain, but that's to be expected—we used the wrong dosage. We still haven't had any wasps.
It turned out that cockroaches had appeared in my apartment while I was away. The first thing I did was clean the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen. Then I ran to the nearest store to buy some kind of pest control. They recommended the insecticide "Chisty Dom Dust" for cockroaches. It's inexpensive. I came home and poured the powder into metal lids, placed them behind the refrigerator in the kitchen, behind the stove, and on top of the kitchen wall, and in the pantry. I also placed them under the bathtub in the bathroom. And also on the top shelf. I did the same in the toilet. As you know, by the second day, the roaches were gone. The best part is, I didn't find any corpses either. Now I just periodically replace the powder with fresh one and put everything on top. At the moment, I don't have any such visitors; they don't like my place.
I bought Ecokiller for bed bugs. If anyone knows, bed bugs can drive you crazy... just thinking about it makes me shudder. For those who don't know, God forbid. It works quickly; everything was calm within three days. According to the instructions, the product doesn't need to be removed from hard-to-reach places, which prevents the insects from coming back. It has no expiration date. I treated everything I could. Cleanliness wasn't an issue (it's a clay-colored powder). The main thing is to get rid of them. This happened last winter. I bought two bottles, used one, and the other one remained. So, I tried it against ants at my dacha. Friends, not a single bastard in 30 minutes. I recommend it.
The smell of the Super Fas solution is terribly unpleasant, but it quickly disappears after airing the room. Keep all doors and windows closed during treatment. It's advisable to leave the house for 30-40 minutes afterward. After this procedure, be sure to ventilate the room and, after a few hours, do a wet cleaning. I thoroughly treated all frequently used items with the "Sterillium" solution. I repeated the procedure three days later, and I think I'll treat the entire house again in about 10 days. The product turned out to be very effective and inexpensive. We got rid of the flea infestation so quickly, but the feeling of something crawling all over you still lingers.
Two treatments with Agran solution, two weeks apart, resulted in mountains of bedbug corpses behind the baseboards... And that's it! I couldn't believe it for three months. I got used to it. Disadvantages: the smell. I don't even know how to describe it... It's a cross between the "aroma" of sewage, the stench of a dead body, and burnt electrical wiring. Warning! Be sure to follow the instructions (ventilation, wet cleaning, etc.)! The poison is incredibly potent. My cat didn't enter the treated room (with his favorite bed) for a week! You can't mess around with Agran!!!
I used Domovaya gel. I didn't notice any odor. I saw results the very next day, or rather, I didn't see any cockroaches. There weren't any. I didn't see any corpses either. I don't know where they disappeared to. But they haven't been there for a year now. I can't say anything about the ants: will it work or not? If you have cockroaches (but not in your head), I recommend it. It's a very effective remedy.
Unfortunately, Mashenka chalk didn't help us either! I'm shocked that all the other reviews for this chalk are 5 stars! That's why I'm posting photos. It's a shame the main characters themselves didn't want to participate. Moreover, they're running right through the epicenter of these stripes! Maybe we have the wrong kind of cockroaches? It's been over a week since I applied it...
Insects are not creatures you want to live with. Most of them can transmit fatal diseases (typhus, dysentery, cholera, etc.). They can appear in your home for two reasons: either your home is extremely dirty, or they've been brought in by your neighbors. In either case, you need to get rid of them, because sooner or later they'll return, but in a significantly larger population.
