"Jaws," "Piranha," and "Heat" are all familiar films, not just to horror and thrill-seekers. Even those who've never set foot in a movie theater have often heard of them. Detective films often feature the tag "based on a true story." That's how realistic the events can be when the killer is a wild animal or mammal.
Trap
The film "Trap" was released in 2019. The film's plot unfolds in the home of the main character, Haley. She returns there to pick up her father, Dave, as a powerful Category 5 hurricane approaches their town.
However, they are unable to escape, as their father is in critical condition. The elements overtake their home, slowly filling it with water.
Hayley radios for rescuers. But as she tries to enter the house, one of them is attacked by a large alligator.
For several hours, the girl and her father distract the reptile in order to reach the necessary places in the house and escape.
An alligator is a dangerous predator that can indeed attack a person, but its attack rarely ends in the death of the victim.
In 2016, a reptile dragged a boy underwater, but he was later found in the same place, healthy and with almost no injuries.
A large number of predators inhabit Florida's rivers and ponds. Despite their numbers, however, they rarely attack humans. Alligators are generally afraid of humans and do not initiate attacks.
Jaws
Sunshine, azure sea, white sand—the perfect place for a heavenly vacation. Until local sheriff Martin Brody discovered the mutilated body of a young girl on the shore.
From that moment on, the quiet town begins to be attacked by a great white shark, which spares no one, increasing the number of its victims every day.
Great white sharks are capable of attacking humans, but when they sense a sinewy, bony body, they abandon their prey and swim away. When attacking, they don't bite off body parts, as depicted in films.
Deep cuts are found on the bodies of victims caught in the mouth of a great white shark, indicating that the shark is tasting its food.
A shark rarely attacks first; it's often provoked by a human intruding into its territory. Before attacking, it will arch its back and make sweeping warning movements with its tail.
Fight
A passenger plane crashes and finds itself far from civilization. Those who survived are now surrounded by endless snow and lone packs of wolves, ready to attack at any moment.
There is no help to be expected, and the surviving passengers are trying to survive at any cost, although they are gradually losing one after another.
Wolves do not attack people. They pose a danger only in exceptional circumstances. A pack of wolves, consisting of 6-7 animals, selects a weakened animal for an attack, as humans are a strong prey item for them.
In some cases, a lone wolf driven out of the pack may attack a person. Lone wolves have difficulty finding food on their own, so they are willing to take extreme measures.
Birds
One day, a seagull crashes into Melanie Daniels, but she doesn't pay any attention. Over time, life in the small town turns into hell.
More and more birds appear on the streets. They lose their fear of humans and begin to attack residents, displaying aggression. It doesn't take long before the birds begin to break into houses, unstoppable by windows or doors.
The only wild bird that can attack a person is the crow. However, it will never attack without provocation. Aggression may be triggered by defense of territory and offspring.
Piranhas
A nighttime earthquake unleashes hundreds of thousands of piranhas. The sheriff, police officers, and Dr. Gorden Raybanks decide to do everything they can to prevent the resort town from becoming the center of a bloody tragedy. However, the piranhas know the answer to the question: who will win: humans or their centuries-old thirst for blood.
In reality, piranhas are very cautious fish that don't attack anything that moves. They pose no danger to humans.
Like some fish, piranhas can attack in self-defense. They bite but don't tear a person apart.
Cujo
Cujo is the name of a St. Bernard who was bitten by a rabid bat while hunting. After the bite, Cujo began killing all his neighbors.
Donna and her son Ted arrive at the workshop and find themselves held hostage by a wild dog. They spend two days stuck in the car, with no way or chance of escape.
The St. Bernard is one of the strongest dog breeds. Its aggression threshold is relatively low, making it good with children and tolerant of frequent attention.
It may attack only if its owner fails to provide daily training and education. A St. Bernard is incapable of killing, but it can bite.
Anaconda
A group of researchers sets off on a journey through the Amazon to film a documentary.
There they meet a hunter who claims to know the way to the tribes they are seeking. The scientists trust him and follow his guide.
However, the hunter doesn't lead them to the tribes, but to local waters to catch a giant anaconda snake. The predator is gradually beginning to eliminate the humans, who now have only one goal: to stay alive.
Despite its fearsome appearance, the anaconda is timid, which is unusual for a predator. When confronted by a human, it prefers to crawl away rather than attack. While anacondas are capable of swallowing a capybara or a small deer, humans are too large for them.
Shallow
Nancy Adam comes to Mexico to find the surfing paradise her mother used to frequent.
The girl's first swim proves tragic: a giant shark attacks her and bites her leg. Nancy finds salvation on the back of a dead whale, killed by the shark. Now she's left alone with the predator, waiting for her to return to the water.
Sharks attack humans but don't eat them. Attacks are more common among predators that aren't confined to a single habitat and are wandering, making them aggressive.
There are also many documented cases of sharks being drawn to the scent of blood spilled into the sea. They have an excellent sense of smell, capable of detecting blood particles from many kilometers away.
