Brown blood stains on the bed, restless sleep, bite marks, itching, and swelling—if all of this is happening to you, it means you have bedbugs in your home. Although they're the most harmless of household insects and don't carry infectious diseases, their presence is no fun. Getting rid of bedbugs was very difficult until new-generation treatments became available. One of them is Get.

What is Get and how does it work?
Get is a next-generation insecticide. It kills insects rather than repels them. Its high effectiveness and safety make it popular, despite its high price.
Get line of products
The drug is available in three forms:
- Get Total is an extended-release product, effective for up to 180 days. It comes in a white, opaque 100 ml bottle.
- Get Express is designed for immediate insect control and is active for 30–60 days. It comes in a dark brown, 50 ml bottle.
- Get dry (Get dry) is a solid form, sometimes called soap. It is used as an auxiliary agent when processing liquids.
In addition, kits consisting of Get Total, protective gloves and a mask are available for sale.
Composition of the drug
The product is a concentrated suspension, with the active ingredient encapsulated in lipid microcapsules. This technology makes the product safe and allows the poison to remain active for a long time.
The concentration of insecticide in Get Total is low, only 5%, which does not reduce its effectiveness but increases safety. In addition to poison and lipids, the product contains alcohols and a citrus fragrance with a slight orange scent.
Active ingredients and their action
Chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient in Get Total, is a nerve agent. When it enters the insect's body through the respiratory tract, it affects the nervous system, blocking the transmission of nerve impulses between cells. As a result, the insect's respiratory tract becomes paralyzed and it dies.
The active ingredient in Get Express is lambda-cyhalothrin, an instant-acting poison. Unlike chlorpyrifos, it is useless against eggs and its effect is limited to 1–2 months.
Safety
One of the advantages of the product is its safety. The poison is lethal to insects, but non-toxic to humans and warm-blooded animals. However, it is dangerous for fish, reptiles and other cold-blooded animals.
The capsules' lipid shell protects them from destruction by water, air, and sun, making them safe for humans—even if the product is accidentally swallowed, it will be excreted naturally without causing harm.
After the water dries, the capsules represent the lowest hazard class – fourth, which corresponds to the toxicity of table salt. The composition does not contain acetone or methanol, which are hazardous to humans, and has no pungent odor. It is approved for use even in childcare and medical facilities.
Duration of action
Microcapsule technology allows Get Total to remain active on surfaces for up to six months. In areas with high humidity and temperature (such as a bathroom), this period is reduced to 2-3 months. Get Express has a shorter duration of action, only 1-2 months.
Purity
All components of the product are purified and contain no aggressive substances. Therefore, the diluted concentrate can be safely applied to wallpaper, furniture, and walls—no residue will remain.
Efficiency
Bed bugs' adaptability to poisons is astounding. Repeated applications of a product containing the same active ingredient are ineffective, as the insects develop resistance to it. The best results will be achieved through a combination of two or more products containing active ingredients from different groups.
For effective insect control, use both Get Express and Total concentrates, first the instant-release product and then the extended-release one. The first will kill visible insects, while the second will work gradually, killing newly hatched insects.
Complete elimination of insects can be achieved by repeatedly treating the premises with active substances from different groups at intervals of up to 28 days.
Get also works on eggs, but only if the poison comes into direct contact with them. Try to find and spray all nests to prevent the insects from hatching. This isn't easy; you don't want to tear apart the entire apartment brick by brick. This is where microcapsules come in handy, destroying the new generation after hatching.
Important! Bedbugs are not social insects; venom cannot be transmitted from an infected individual to other bedbugs.
Furthermore, treating the area will help prevent re-infestation for the entire duration of the product's effectiveness. However, to achieve this, it must not be washed off.
Table of the effectiveness of insecticides containing the active ingredient chlorpyrifos
| Preparation | Percentage of active substance | Approved for household use | Smell | Evaluation of effectiveness |
| Averfos | 48 | No | strong | Great |
| Get Total | 5 | Yes | No | Very good |
| Dobrokhim Micro | 25 | Yes | No | — |
| Xulat S-25 | 25 | No | No | Great |
| Sinuzan | 48 | No | strong | good, but very caustic |
| Chlorpyrimark | 48 | No | strong | — |
| Extermin-F | 10 | Yes | No | Great |

Procedure for processing premises
Before treatment, determine the required amount of the preparation. 1 bottle of Get Total is enough for a room of 20-22 sq.m.
- Start with a thorough cleaning to identify bed bug nests and hives.
- While the product is being applied and drying, remove people and animals from the room. Remove the aquarium or cover it with protective film.
- Prepare a spray bottle and a suitable container into which to measure the required amount of water. Dilute the concentrate according to the proportions specified in the instructions.
- Protect your respiratory system with a mask and your hands with gloves.
- Shake the medicine in the bottle, then open the lid.
- Mix the emulsion with water and pour into a spray bottle.
- Spray all possible places where insects accumulate:
- cracks in the floor and walls;
- floor and ceiling skirting boards;
- peeling wallpaper;
- door frames;
- places for mounting sockets and lamps;
- riser and pipe inlets;
- the back of the furniture;
- bottom, frame joints and upholstery attachment points of upholstered furniture;
- bottom and side surfaces of mattresses;
- carpets and rugs;
- paintings and mirrors;
- the back side of household appliances.
Important! Before cleaning, unplug appliances and do not plug them back in until they are completely dry.
- Wait until the solution dries completely (after about 8 hours), ventilate the room.
- Wipe surfaces that you constantly come into contact with with a soap solution.
- Wash curtains, bedspreads and other textiles at a temperature of at least 600C, bedbugs die at +500WITH.
- Seal all cracks through which insects can enter, and cover ventilation openings with mesh.
- Clean the area after two weeks, once the premises are completely clear of unwanted guests. Avoid wiping off any remaining product.
- To achieve results, repeat the treatment after 3-4 weeks.
Video instructions for using Get to kill bedbugs
Important! Before cleaning, unplug appliances and do not plug them back in until they are completely dry.
Use Get Total and Express. This will ensure rapid destruction of adult flies and long-lasting effects on the entire population, including eggs. Both products have different active ingredients, which will help prevent insects from adapting to one of them.
Get stick soap is designed for moisture-sensitive surfaces. Apply it to wood, plaster, whitewash, fabric, and other absorbent surfaces to help prevent them from warping. The solid product is used in addition to the liquid ones.
Tip! In addition to a sprayer, you can use a roller or brush for application.
Precautionary measures
In its pure form, chlorpyrifos is highly toxic and classified as a Class 2 hazard to humans. However, in Get products, it is isolated by a lipid membrane and is virtually harmless. Nevertheless, safety precautions must be observed when handling it:
- Work with gloves and a protective mask.
- Avoid contact with mucous membranes and exposed areas of the body.
- Use the drug only in diluted form.
- Do not leave the concentrate within reach of children and animals.
- Do not spray the product on linens or clothing. Wash contaminated items.
- In case of contact with skin or mucous membranes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Any accidentally swallowed substance will be eliminated naturally through urine and feces. To prevent poisoning, take several tablets of activated charcoal.
- If signs of poisoning appear (such as abdominal pain or blurred vision), drink two glasses of a 2% baking soda solution to induce vomiting. Then consult a doctor.
- If signs of irritation on the skin or mucous membranes occur, consult a doctor.
- If signs of respiratory irritation appear, spend at least two hours in the fresh air and ventilate the room.
- The product is harmful only to fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Cold-blooded animals should be provided with temporary shelter while fighting bedbugs.
- Aquarium fish are at risk during treatment. Cover the aquarium with plastic film to prevent the toxin from entering the water.
Important! These products are non-toxic to warm-blooded animals! Signs of irritation are unlikely.
Reviews of Get products for bedbug control
After using it, I can say that the product is definitely effective, but it wasn't able to help us completely, even though there was no infested furniture in the apartment. It's essential to maintain the correct temperature, otherwise the effect wears off. Therefore, we couldn't use it exclusively; it didn't save us. Of course, it's possible that the pests are crawling in from somewhere, even though we sealed everything with silicone, including the cracks in the baseboards...
I decided to try it myself first. After a long search online, I ordered GET online. It cost 700 rubles at the time. I followed the instructions, although I first poured boiling water over all the places where bedbugs were concentrated. The next day, I sprayed the entire room with GET as described on the website. I did this all while wearing gloves and a mask. I was lucky that I was able to leave the house and there were no pets or children. After the first treatment, they remained alive for a while, but gradually disappeared. A week or two later, maybe two—I don't remember exactly—they died, although the paranoia of someone biting at night remained. A month later, I did a second treatment, although they were no longer anywhere and no one had bitten. And three months later, I did my final treatment; I had a little product left, since I only treated one room. Now all that's left are the dirty seams of a light-colored sofa, but you can't see it unless you go inside. Two years have passed, and they haven't returned. There was no smell left in the room; it disappeared within a month.
So, when we realized what had befallen us, we got down to business right away. First, we had to prevent the infestation from spreading throughout the apartment. This is best done using a barrier method. It's not necessary to use the expensive Get product. You can spray door frames and electrical outlets with vinegar. Insects can't stand its smell. And don't take anything out of the infested room. Boil everything and iron it. Remove carpets and curtains, and do a general cleaning. Thoroughly vacuum the furniture. Place the vacuum bag directly into a plastic bag and throw it away. Then we thoroughly sprayed everything with Get. We diluted it according to the instructions—one bottle per 2 liters of water. After the first treatment, it seemed like the bedbugs had disappeared. But that wasn't true. We simply killed them mechanically. The eggs remained. A few days later, tiny bugs started crawling around. It's really disgusting—they bite, but you can't see them. We practically crawled over the sofa with a magnifying glass to make sure they were still there. We had to repeat the treatment. We practically took the sofa apart for this. A week later, we did another control treatment. Now, it seems there are no more. But out of fear, I still change everyone's bed linen two or three times a week. It's probably a nervous breakdown.
There are certainly things far worse and more terrifying than bedbugs, but few people are comfortable with their presence in their apartments. I couldn't believe it for a long time, and then I couldn't calm down for a long time. We have a dog, a pet rat, and children, after all... We were looking for a product, the safest possible one, since we had nowhere to move while we were battling the bedbugs. The internet was littered with GET ads, so we fell for the convincing words, bought it for 690 rubles, diluted it properly, and doused everything we could. A month and a week passed. We endured the promised 20 days, expecting all the bedbugs to die en masse on the 21st day and for us to be able to live peacefully. All this time, I was finding and squashing perfectly vigorous bugs on the treated surfaces. The story that bedbugs would walk across the treated surface, pick up the poison, and spread it to nests and other bedbugs, and that the "dry residue" would last for another six months, turned out to be just that: a fairy tale. The sofa where the most bedbugs were was completely soaked with geta, but today four adult bedbugs were walking across it without a care. And don't mention hatched eggs and undetected nests—that's all true, but don't promise the dry residue would last for six months. If that were true, they would have come to any other sofa, but they wouldn't have approached this one, since it was completely soaked with poison. The number of bedbugs has decreased, but they're still there. The war continues, only now, probably, without geta.
I diluted the Get solution as directed in the instructions: 1 to 15. It mixes easily. I poured the solution into a spray bottle and sprayed the room as directed: behind all the shelves, pictures, and baseboards. I also treated the windows and doors, and sprayed the floors. The smell is not strong and dissipates fairly quickly. After a couple of hours, I could walk into the room without wrinkling my nose. By the morning, there was no trace of the smell at all. After the treatment, I didn't cough or have a burning sensation in my throat. I just felt a bit under the weather after a couple of other products, which is why I'm writing this. I have some experience in pest control. I have two cats and a dog, and no one was harmed or poisoned. So, Get is a bedbug control product that's safe for animals. I confirm this. The result: I haven't had any bedbugs for about six months. Recently, bites have started appearing on my legs again in the mornings. Apparently, a new batch of bloodsuckers has hatched somewhere in our house or in the neighbors'. I'll be buying a new bedbug repellent for home use in a few days. I'll probably choose GET (Jet, Get)—it's worked best for me. I also received some helpful advice, which I'm sharing with you if you're experiencing the same problem. It's best to treat the bugs 2-3 times, 2-3 weeks apart. They say it's more reliable. I don't know yet, but I'll give it a try. I hope I can get rid of the bedbugs—they're a real scourge...
The product has a wide range of applications and is also intended for use against other harmful insects. So, when I received the product, I immediately applied it to potential bedbug habitats as directed. At first, I didn't believe the product would have the desired effect, but I soon realized I had made the right choice in using Get against bedbugs. In short, I have one problem, a very big problem, lessened in my life! Thanks to the makers of this truly miraculous product! Get is your reliable assistant in solving such problems! Absolutely!
Bedbugs are a powerful adversary, and getting rid of them isn't easy. Arm yourself with patience and determination, meticulously inspect every corner of your apartment to identify the pests' nests and destroy them in their lair, and use several treatments with different types of poisons in succession. Then, those pesky insects won't bother you at night.
