- Remove all food, dishes, personal hygiene items, and personal belongings from the house. If this is not possible, pack everything in sealed bags.
- Perform wet cleaning.
- Close the aquarium tightly during treatment (if you have one) and turn off the oxygen supply.

...my mom advised me to buy a packet of malathion at the gardening department. I'll warn you right away that it's very smelly. I sprayed everything from the bed to the closet and wallpaper. I also placed a jar of the same solution on the bottom of the bed... But when I got home, I was surprised to see dead bedbugs lying on the floor and in the sofa—there were a lot of them, and almost all of them were small. The bite marks began to fade noticeably. And I never saw them again.
Neighbors came to the rescue and recommended Malathion. Contrary to the instructions, we diluted it "by eye": one bottle per 2 liters of water (my husband diluted it generously: two bottles per 2 liters of water). We treated every board without exception, both diseased and healthy. While my husband sprayed, I crawled around with a syringe, injecting the solution into the holes in the wood. Within half an hour, the first refugees began crawling, and within two hours, the floor was littered with half-dead larvae. All that was left was to collect them in a dustpan. To be absolutely sure of victory, we repeated the procedure a couple of days later. A year and a half have passed since then, and the house is quiet, calm, and cozy.
