Toy Terriers are considered one of the most easy-to-care-for dog breeds, suitable even for beginners. Their small size and weight make them easy to care for at home. They don't require daily brushing, don't emit an unpleasant doggy odor, and don't shed large clumps of fur.
This is a decorative breed that should be kept in comfortable conditions with rare visits outside. A kind of “pocket” pet, because it fits in a woman’s handbag. Adults weigh no more than 2–3 kg. Height at the withers is up to 25 cm.
A distinctive feature is their large ears, set high on the crown of their heads. This allows them to have well-developed hearing. Their eyes are set wide apart and relatively large, giving them the appearance of slightly bulging.
The Toy Terrier was developed in England in the late 19th century. The breed's immediate ancestors are Black and Tan Terriers.
The body is athletic, with well-developed muscles, making these pets agile and active. Obesity is rare in this breed, but it depends on diet and lifestyle.

It is better to buy a Toy Terrier puppy from a nursery or a breeder than from a pet store or bird market.

The dog has an energetic and fiery personality. This is noticeable when the dog shakes when held. In reality, it's not cold, but an excess of energy that overflows. The dog is always ready for action. Despite all this, representatives of the breed are peaceful and are practically incapable of harming their owners or people close to the family. They are suspicious of strangers and always try to show this by barking. However, this rarely leads to actual harm.
Toy Terriers are especially fond of children. They make ideal companions. They will protect them selflessly, even against dangerous opponents.

Toy Terriers are not aware of their own size: adult males tend to approach larger dogs, causing aggression in them.
