3 Habits Your Cat Hates

Cats are considered even more stubborn than dogs, and they can get aggressive at the slightest opportunity. Let's look at what to avoid when interacting with cats.

Cats don't like being kissed.

Kissing isn't a natural behavior for animals, so this display of affection puts unnecessary strain on cats' nervous systems. Furthermore, it leaves invisible marks on their fur, which is undesirable for pets. Try to limit kissing your cats so they don't have to hide under the cabinet.

The worst thing a cat can do is fly into the air.

You might think it's funny to throw and catch the cat. However, its self-preservation instinct makes it think about danger, and at that moment, it experiences real stress. If you don't want revenge from the cat, don't throw it.

Don't touch the cat's paws.

A cat's paw serves a variety of functions, from grooming to protection, and it's also used to place a paw on another cat to show dominance. A cat perceives you as an equal, and if you don't want to get scratched, avoid touching its paws unnecessarily.

Neither a dog nor a cat can tell you what's frightening or annoying them. It's your responsibility as the owner to respond promptly and appropriately to your pet's cues. Respect your pet, and they'll only bring you joy.

Cats don't like being picked up, even if they're handled. Our first cat would just hit my wife in the face with his paw when that happened. He wasn't serious. He'd tolerate that kind of treatment from me and our son. True, I'd scoop him up from underneath, not brazenly grab him by the armpits like my wife. That's not the way to grab cats!

Cats can be picked up by the paw. However, their bellies should not be touched when they are lying on their backs. Claws from all four paws should be in your hand.

Toss and catch a cat? What kind of kamikaze does that? Does anyone really enjoy being torn apart? Actually, if you want to prank your cat, I recommend this method: pick up the cat, stretch it out, and see how high it can reach if it stands on its hind legs. Hang a tasty piece of meat just a couple of centimeters above its maximum reach. Usually, in this case, the cat will try for quite a while to get the meat without jumping up, and the sight is quite amusing. It's even funnier when it starts asking for it instead of jumping and grabbing it. It works with all cats; I used to prank them like that all the time as a child.

All cats are different and their habits are also different: some like to wash themselves, others don’t, some are afraid of the vacuum cleaner, others aren’t, some are tame, others don’t like to lie on your lap, and so on and so forth.

My cat loves it when I kiss him! He even comes to me on his own when I ignore him for a while. Maybe he's just used to it?
I agree about the paws. And as for throwing... I've never done that)))

My cat is very affectionate. He couldn't care less where I pet him... As long as I don't pick him up with his paws up, he'll do anything to wriggle away. Otherwise, do whatever you want with him.
