Feliferon is considered an effective immunostimulant and anti-inflammatory agent. It not only helps strengthen the immune system, but also prevents the proliferation of viral cells by producing specific antibodies.

Indications for use:

  • ARVI, cold;
  • infectious diseases;
  • helminthiasis;
  • anemia;
  • lesions of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • food and drug poisoning;
  • hypovitaminosis.

Feliferon is often prescribed as a prophylactic agent during epidemics, after surgeries, and after childbirth.

injection of the drug

Feliferon solution must not be mixed with other medications in the same syringe.

The drug is non-addictive and can be used long-term. Using Feliferon in combination with other antiviral and antibacterial agents reduces treatment time, and the therapeutic effect is noticeable after the first injection.

Contraindications

Feliferon is a low-risk drug, but like any other medication, it has some contraindications.

You should not give Feliferon to your cat in the following cases:

  • severe allergy (food or drug);
  • pathologies of the circulatory system;
  • individual intolerance to components;
  • diseases of the nervous system;
  • autoimmune diseases.

Before administering medication to a cat, a veterinarian must thoroughly examine the animal and review its medical history. This will help avoid serious complications, such as allergic reactions.

Instructions for use

When using the drug, it's important to strictly adhere to the dosage. It's calculated by a veterinarian, taking into account the cat's weight, age, and health status. As a preventative measure, Feliferon is administered once at a dose of no more than 200,000 IU. For treatment, it's administered twice, 48 hours apart, and in severe cases, once daily for a week. Sometimes the dosage is increased to 400,000 IU at a time.

The medicine is administered only intramuscularly into the hind leg, near the knee joint. It is important to take care when using it so as not to inject the drug directly into the joint. It should be injected to a depth of no more than 1 cm, and skipping the next dose is highly undesirable.

cat vaccination

It is not recommended to use Feliferon after vaccination of animals for 10 days.

Feliferon can be used to treat kittens and pregnant cats, but only after consultation with a doctor.

Possible side effects

As a rule, when used correctly, no adverse reactions are observed. The only exception is an individual reaction in the animal, manifesting as a severe allergic attack. In this case, the cat should be immediately given an antihistamine and seek veterinary attention.

If Feliferon is used strictly according to the instructions, adhering to all doctor's prescriptions, it will bring only benefits to the animal's body, relieve serious viral infections, and strengthen the immune system.
