It's a beautiful summer day: a walk in the park, a picnic with friends, and a cozy family dinner await you. However, something that can ruin your vacation is already lurking both outside and inside your home. Mosquitoes are one of the most common and annoying summer nuisances. Fumitox, a familiar product, has long been a popular choice for combating them. This company's product line has recently expanded, but how do you choose the safest and most effective?

Types of mosquito repellents Fumitox
Many of us remember the days when mosquito repellent sprays were just appearing in hardware stores. They were few and far between back then, and Fumitox was often the only one available. However, the range of mosquito repellent sprays is very limited, so the company has expanded its range of anti-mosquito products, and now you can choose the right one based on your plans and personal preferences.
Fumigator
Those popular fumigators haven't changed much: they're still electrical devices that plug into a wall outlet. In addition to the familiar plates, a liquid-based version has also been added.
D-allethrin or prallethrin is used as an active substance that directly repels mosquitoes. The cardboard sheets are impregnated with this substance. When the device is heated, the substance begins to evaporate from the surface and spread throughout the room. A liquid fumigator operates on a similar principle, except that a bottle of liquid is attached to the device, which also vaporizes and kills mosquitoes. The bottles, like the sheets, are replaceable.
I don't know about everyone else. But for our family, this Fumitox 30-night odorless liquid kit (including the electric fumigator and a can of mosquito repellent) is a lifesaver! The thing is, we happened to buy an old house in the village, naturally, with a basement. Well, in Russian villages, the basement generally serves as a warehouse. A place to store everything grown. And a place to store mosquito larvae, too. You can't imagine being bitten by mosquitoes in January and February—and you can! And the only thing that saves us from this misfortune is this very liquid fumigator—the plates aren't enough. You'll get tired of changing the plates... But here, you get a month of peace, as long as you don't unplug it. That's how it is...
Both the plates and the liquid are also available in a version designed to protect children from mosquitoes – Fumitox Nezhenka. The fumigator itself only needs to be purchased once - it lasts for quite a long time, and can be used for both "adult" plates and bottles, as well as "children's" ones.
The only drawback of fumigators is their dependence on electricity: they can only be used if there is an outlet.
Spiral
To protect against mosquitoes in open spaces, Fumitox has created special coils. They are completely self-contained and require no power source. The coil is removed from the packaging and separated (usually in double coils), then placed on a metal stand and ignited. As soon as it lights up and starts smoking, the flame should be extinguished: the coil should slowly smolder, not burn..
The product typically contains transfluthrin or d-allethrin, which kill mosquitoes, as well as fragrance. Despite the stated low toxicity of the active ingredient, the coil should only be used outdoors, preferably away from people, or—at your own risk—in a very spacious room, which should then be ventilated. Some careless housewives leave the burning coil in their living space overnight.
At night at the dacha in the summer, even one mosquito flying into the house can drive you crazy. I use Fumitox mosquito coils in the house. You light the coil, blow it out, place it on the stand, and… sleep soundly all night. The coil lasts for 7-8 hours.
However, this can be dangerous - the instructions for the coils themselves say this. Long-term exposure to allethrin and its derivatives can cause nausea, headache, and vomiting, not to mention allergic reactions. Moreover, it's not just the insecticide itself that can cause allergies, but also the fragrance, which usually contains geraniol. Therefore, it's best to use the coil outdoors, for example, to protect your garden, veranda, or summer cottage from mosquitoes.
Mosquitoes are nasty and annoying insects that can be a real nuisance in the summer, especially outdoors in the evenings. Summer may be coming to an end, but I'll still tell you about a wonderful mosquito repellent—Fumitox mosquito coils—that kept us safe all summer long. There's no flame; they simply turn red and slowly smolder, emitting a distinctive odor. I didn't even know what it smelled like, but it's unpleasant, which is why they're recommended for outdoor spaces. We used one on our open veranda, and it worked perfectly: there were no mosquitoes, and our warm summer evenings weren't ruined by those pesky bloodsuckers!
It's not a problem if the area being treated is small: it's not necessary to burn the entire coil; you can burn it in sections—you just need to carefully extinguish the tip each time.
Aerosol
One of the most radical mosquito repellents in the Fumitox line is an indoor aerosol. It contains sumitrin, tetramethrin, and the aforementioned d-allethrin.
This product is recommended for treating the premises that need to be rid of mosquitoes: walls, floors, corners, furniture, doorframes and windowsills. Before spraying the room, you need to remove food, toys and dishes, and it is advisable to protect yourself with gloves and a respirator. After this procedure, the room should be ventilated. Fumitox aerosol is good because it not only kills all insects in the room but also prevents new ones from appearing. The effect lasts for several hours.
I've purchased Fumitox aerosol spray two or three times. I'm quite satisfied with this insect repellent. After using it, I usually leave the room for twenty to twenty-five minutes. In my experience, this aerosol spray lasts for at least five to six hours, but that's if you don't spray too much. However, if you apply a more thorough, thicker spray, it lasts practically all night.
Furthermore, this product is effective not only against mosquitoes but also against other flying pests, such as flies, wasps, and moths. A disadvantage of Fumitox against flying insects is its high toxicity, caused by the high concentration of active ingredients.
Cream
To directly protect human skin from mosquitoes, Fumitox created a protective cream—Dainak-Fumitox. It is essentially no different from repellent creams from other companies, being essentially an analogue of products such as Tayozhny Cream and DEET, which contain the same active ingredient—diethyltoluamide (DEET)—and are much more affordable.
Apply Dynac-Fumitox to exposed skin and clothing. The cream is washed off with water, and if you use it at the beach, you'll need to reapply the protective layer after each swim. DEET is a universal repellent, so the cream helps prevent bites not only from mosquitoes, but also from midges, ticks, horseflies, and other blood-sucking insects.
The children's version of the cream, Fumitox Nezhenka, is suitable for children, expectant mothers, and allergy sufferers.

The Fumitox Nezhenka series of products is suitable not only for children, but also for pregnant women and allergy sufferers.
Fumitox "Nezhenka" Children's Mosquito Repellent Cream: the price-quality ratio is excellent. My wife is very careful when choosing insect repellents, and this one is perfect for children. It really does keep mosquitoes away for 2-3 hours, which is plenty. The cream itself has a medium consistency (which is very good), is easy to apply, and also rinses off easily with warm water. I RECOMMEND IT.
"Nezhenka" contains the active ingredient in a lower concentration and, therefore, does not cause irritation even on sensitive children's skin.
How to choose the right product
The Fumitox line of insecticides is quite diverse, and hardware stores offer a wide selection. However, choosing the right protection option should depend on your specific goals, as these products are used in different conditions and for different purposes.
If you want to reliably and permanently protect your home from mosquitoes, it's worth getting an aerosol spray and spraying it on the affected area in advance. This will take an hour or two, as you'll need to remove all people and animals from the room, remove dishes, food, children's clothes, and toys, and then ventilate the area. The aerosol will also help get rid of moths, flies, horseflies, wasps, and other flying insects.
To deal with mosquitoes in your home "here and now," it's best to use a fumigator: it can be turned on even when people are in the room. The manufacturer recommends leaving it on overnight: the packaging usually specifies how many nights the liquid will last—based on 8 hours of operation. One plate is also good for one night. To avoid headaches and nausea, the room where the fumigator is used must be well ventilated for all 8 hours of its continuous operation.Do not exceed the recommended session time, and remember to unplug the fumigator. It's also best to plug the device into outlets located near the room's entrance or windows, but not near the bed.
Fumitox coils are suitable only for open, well-ventilated spaces: they can be used to protect garden plots, vegetable gardens, and patios from mosquitoes. They're a great option for picnics, outdoor get-togethers, and even the backyard of a country house. However, use this product before everyone is seated and ready to eat, to avoid poisoning yourself or spoiling your food and drink. The smell of the coils is very strong, so the protective effect is maintained even in light wind.
Hikers take coils with them on hikes to burn around campfires. However, using them in a tent should be done with extreme caution: light for no more than 15 minutes and then be sure to ventilate the tent to remove smoke.
To protect yourself from mosquitoes, apply the repellent cream Dynak-Fumitox directly to your skin. It creates a protective layer on the skin, preventing bites from mosquitoes and other insects. The DEET in its composition also protects against ticks, horseflies, midges and other bloodsuckers. This cream is a good option for those who are going to go for a walk in the forest or park.
Allethrin and its derivatives, contained in Fumitox products, can be toxic if inhaled, so it is important to follow the safety precautions provided in the instructions. Rooms in which they are used must be adequately ventilated. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as those with allergies, are advised not to use these products at all.
To protect children from insects, choose the special Fumitox Nezhenka line of products. Their composition is identical to their adult counterparts, but they contain less active ingredient, making them safe for children even under one year old. This line includes sheets, a liquid fumigator, and a repellent cream.

A mosquito bite can cause an allergic reaction in a child, so a special series of products should be used to protect children.
After scrolling through reviews from moms and dads on various parenting websites, I came to the conclusion that the best "Nezhenka" is "Fumitoks." It comes in both liquid and tablet forms. It's suitable for children under one year old. However, there's a small limitation: it can't be used in rooms smaller than 13 square meters. We bought this product. Liquid and tablets. We used the liquid and didn't need the tablets. I'm very happy with the results. If I see a mosquito flying around in the evening, I immediately turn on the fumigator with the liquid. A couple of hours is enough. I don't leave it on overnight. It's chemical, after all. The results are still there. The night passes peacefully. The mosquitoes no longer bother us.
The Fumitox range covers virtually every aspect of our lives—home, garden, walks, and outdoor recreation. Choosing the right product is easy. Just stock up on Fumitox before the summer season begins, and mosquitoes will no longer bother you and your family.
