Cats
The British Shorthair is a beloved cat. It's one of the oldest breeds, with its history dating back to the 1st century AD. However, the breed as we know it has only been known since the 19th century. The very best specimens of this breed are registered in special stud books, many of which are over 100 years old.
British Shorthair catsThe Exotic cat was created by crossing a Persian and an American Shorthair. The cross was originally intended to improve the Persians' coat, but the results disappointed breeders. However, these cute, thick-pawed little bears immediately won the hearts of both ordinary people and breeders. In 1967, these "thick-pawed wonders" received universal recognition and a breed name—Exotic. In 1980, the Exotic Shorthair was fully legalized.
All about exotic catsThe homeland of these cats, distinguished by their aristocratic character, is Great Britain, and from the moment they appeared, they became a symbol of that country. These creatures, which come in various sizes and invariably have short, plush fur and a charming "Cheshire" smile, were officially registered in 1987. Even then, the British breed began to gain popularity worldwide.
