A pregnant stray cat was brought to a West Virginia shelter. Two days later, she gave birth. Five weak kittens were born, two of which died almost immediately. The mother cat barely had the strength or resources to care for her litter.
Then Jane, a shelter worker, decided to take this little family to her home, where they would be provided with better care and conditions than in the shelter.
The girl named the mother cat Peregrine. Jane believes she was most likely a domestic cat before, as she was very affectionate.
The older the Peregrine cubs grew, the more they resembled their mother. Each had a white chest, white paws, a white belly, and half the whiskers on their faces were also white. The entire family is so similar that many people think they see a single cat surrounded by mirror images.
The cubs are currently ten weeks old. They have been named Merlin, Kestrel, and Kite. Jane is using social media to find loving homes for all four.
