Viral and fungal diseases are equally dangerous for cats and humans. Therefore, it's important to keep your pet up-to-date on vaccinations and remember to get boosters.
From calicivirus
This is the most common and dangerous viral disease. Infection occurs through contact with an infected animal, as well as through shoes and clothing. The excreta of calicivirus carriers is another potential source of infection.
Symptoms of the disease: a sharp increase in body temperature (up to 40 degrees), an unpleasant odor from the mouth, pneumonia and ulcers on the oral mucosa.
Calicivirus is not dangerous for humans, but can be fatal in cats.
The first vaccination is given at 2.5 months of age, with a booster dose given two weeks later. This will further strengthen the animal's immunity.
Your pet should be vaccinated annually. This will help keep their immune system strong.
From rage
A fatal viral disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, rabies has the same effects on pets and their owners.
It's recommended to vaccinate kittens at 3 months of age. Vaccination can save not only the animal but also your family.
A rabies vaccination is mandatory if you plan to travel abroad with your pet. This vaccination should be administered no later than one month before departure.
For lichen
Fungal ringworm is a superficial infection of the skin. It is easily transmitted from one animal to another or to humans through household items.
Cats can be vaccinated as early as 2 months of age. This will protect your pet from ringworm and its fungal variants.
The vaccination is effective for one year. Since the infection can remain dormant for two to five years, it is recommended to get a booster shot annually.
