Form of manufacture and composition of the drug Vetom
The veterinary drug Vetom 11 for animals is produced in the form of a white loose powder. It is odorless and sweetish in tasteIt dissolves well in water, creating a suspension.
Vetom 11 contains a dry substance with an increased concentration of Bacilus subtilis bacteria. These bacteria, during their life cycle, produce interferon, a protein that boosts immunity and protects cats from viral diseases.
Each gram of this product contains at least 1x107 colony-forming units of active compounds. To maintain the viability of the spores, nutrients are added to the medicine. These additives include:
- 1,500 g starch;
- 1 g powdered sugar;
- 2 g of corn extract.
Pharmacological action
The bacteria in Vetom 11 are not killed by the hydrochloric acid in the cat's gastrointestinal tract and are not digested. After a certain period of time, the spores spread throughout the intestines and begin to intensively produce antibiotic-like substances, enzymes and interferon.
Due to their vegetative form, the spores quickly normalize the functioning of the animal's gastrointestinal tract, regulating acidity, metabolic processes, and improving the digestive process.
