The breeder got rid of the puppy because of its large size.

The breeder decided to get rid of the puppy, who didn't meet breed standards, and surrendered him to a shelter. Katie from New York saw photos of the dog and adopted him, giving him a new name: Bartram.

Many value dogs for their loyalty, friendliness, and many other qualities. However, others see them only as a source of income.

A Pomeranian breeder in Oklahoma failed to sell a puppy named Jasper. The dog was quite large for his age, which didn't meet the breed's standard.

The dog was handed over to an animal shelter. Animals there are often euthanized if a new owner isn't found within a couple of weeks to take the animal in.

A couple of days after Jasper arrived at the shelter, staff posted photos of the puppy on social media.

On a walk

They were spotted by art gallery owner Katie Grayson. She immediately fell in love with the puppy and traveled all the way from New York to Tulsa to befriend Jasper and give him a new home.

Katie decided to name her pet Bartram and created an Instagram page for him, which has over 235,000 followers. The dog spends most of his time in Katie's art studio. He loves greeting visitors, who are immediately charmed by him.

Many people think Bartram looks a lot like a teddy bear. He also loves to travel in a bag. Many mistake him for a large stuffed animal and are amazed when he starts moving. He has a very thick coat, which keeps him warm in the winter. In the summer, Katie keeps him trimmed, leaving only his head fluffy.
