The Japanese Chin, a photo of which can evoke affection even in seasoned dog owners, is a popular dog breed not only abroad, but also in our country.
Despite several main theories explaining the breed's origin, Japanese Chins stand out from other decorative breeds with some key characteristics.
This small, elegant and incredibly graceful dog has a wide muzzle and a fairly long, beautiful coat.
The ratio of the height of an adult animal at the withers to the length of its body is 1:1, but females may well have a more elongated format.
The coat color is white, with black or red spots with clear boundaries located around the eyes, ears, and also on the body.
It should be noted that for purebred Japanese Chin dogs, a random arrangement of spots of any shape is very important.
The standard height of a male at the withers may not exceed a quarter of a meter, while females should be slightly lower, but the weight of the animal, regardless of gender, varies between 1.8 and 3.2 kg.
According to scientists, the Japanese Chin is one of the most ancient breeds, dating back approximately three thousand years. This toy dog, developed by Japanese breeders, is now the country's first non-native breed to have deservedly received international recognition.
