Companions, babysitters, fearless protectors, merrymakers, and athletes—that's all about Boxers. They were incredibly popular in the USSR. But recently, they've lost their place in people's hearts to more fashionable breeds. However, interest in Boxers is currently resurfacing, and the photos are proof of that.
Description
These dogs have a striking appearance. We invite you to look at the photos to see for yourself.
Boxers are strong, well-muscled, agile, and agile animals. The average height of these dogs is 60 cm and the average weight is 25–30 kg. The breed owes its name to its habit of fighting by standing on its hind legs and striking with its front legs.
Their flattened muzzle and upturned nose lend these four-legged creatures a special charm. According to the breed standard, the lower jaw should protrude 1.5 cm, and the lips should hang down at the sides. Because of this structure, these dogs exhibit certain physiological characteristics: they snore loudly and produce a lot of drool.
The current breed standard allows for red and brindle colors in puppies. However, shades can range from dark brown to almost yellow.
White spots are also permitted, but they must not cover a third of the animal's body. Otherwise, the dog is considered "deficient" and is not allowed to participate in shows. However, a white Boxer variety also has its fans. These were developed relatively recently and differ from their counterparts not only in color but also in health. "Blonde" Boxers have been shown to be prone to allergies.
Character
Boxers are very active dogs. Long walks are a must. Ignoring them can lead to serious behavioral problems. Dogs that don't have time to burn off their energy become mischievous, destroying everything in their path. Given their size and strength, the consequences can be quite dire.
Dogs of this breed are considered the best "nannies" among dogs. They adore children, eagerly participate in all games, and patiently tolerate pestering. At the same time, they will never allow anyone to harm their little owner.
Boxers were once considered a fighting breed, bred for show rings. However, their personality has changed significantly since then. Today, they are good-natured dogs with a balanced personality, not prone to aggression.
This doesn't stop them from being excellent guard dogs. They are wary of strangers and will not spare anyone who attempts to harm their owner or their property.
Boxers are versatile dogs that fit perfectly into the lifestyle of an active family. They are companions, guard dogs, and simply pets all rolled into one.
