Having a pet in the house isn't always all joy and fun, it can also bring challenges. Dogs love to be naughty, throw things around, run around, and chew on everything they can get their teeth on. Fortunately, there are breeds that aren't prone to destroying furniture and other home furnishings.
Yorkshire Terrier
Yorkshire Terrier puppies are prone to chewing on wires, shoes, and upholstery. However, they can be trained to stop this habit by using the "No!" command.
Adult pets don't have a tendency to destroy property. This behavior indicates a problem:
- increased anxiety, fear of the dog;
- boredom and loneliness;
- lack of activity;
- change of teeth.
To avoid this, owners should spend more time with their pet, take them for walks more often, and offer them dog toys. If these problems persist and the owner is unable to resolve them, they should put away shoes and cords when leaving the house.
Pug
Representatives of this breed are known for their cheerful disposition, love people, and get along well with other pets. These dogs are suitable for apartment living, even in small apartments. Owners don't need to worry about their belongings. This is because these dogs prefer to spend time lounging on the couch. They are less likely than other breeds to be mischievous due to lack of attention. The main reason they don't chew is the laziness typical of this breed.
Chihuahua
Chihuahua puppies are curious and will try to taste as many things as possible. You can stop this unwanted behavior by redirecting their attention to other objects, spending more time together, and redirecting their activity.
The best solution is to provide your puppy with chewable objects. Dog toys, rubber balls, and thick ropes are all suitable "chewables." However, adult Chihuahuas are also less likely to damage furniture and shoes.
Toy Terrier
This toy breed is suitable for indoor living. These dogs are good-natured, friendly, and can defend themselves when necessary. They don't damage furniture, chew shoes, wires, or wallpaper when their owners are away. They tolerate solitude well and can occupy themselves.
Poodle
Representatives of this breed are the largest and most intelligent of all. They are highly trainable, so owners will have no trouble explaining to their pet that mischief is not allowed. Poodles are unobtrusive, yet they enjoy human companionship. They enjoy spending time with their family and are very sociable. They expend their boundless energy playing games on walks.
There's no such thing as a dog that has never destroyed its owner's things. This is especially true when it comes to small dogs. However, many dogs prefer to spend time with their owners rather than destroy furniture. The owner's job is to devote sufficient time to their pet and be patient in training them.
