Weimaraners in the life of artist and photographer William Wegman

William Wegman achieved fame as an artist quite early: his work was exhibited in Paris, London, and New York before he was even 30. One day, he realized he wanted a dog. He chose a Weimaraner puppy from a shelter. One day, the mischievous Man Ray (as the puppy was named) was interrupting the artist's work, constantly trying to get into the camera's focus. After seeing the ruined shots, Wegman realized he would now pursue photography, using his faithful dog as his model.

Man Ray died long ago, but William Wegman still works with Weiermar pointers. It's hard to argue with the breed's charm and expressiveness.

She looks great on camera, is smart - it's a pleasure to work with her.

Whatever William does, the dogs are always there.

The creative process and the implementation of ideas are closely monitored by intelligent dog eyes.

And then the studio is transformed and filming begins.

Sometimes you need a break. And beautiful models wander around the shoot locations. It's wonderful when a chair or sofa turns up. Then you can take a little break.

If Wegman notices that a dog looks great in the frame, he almost always makes it pose.

William often takes photos outdoors. Sometimes, getting his feet wet is necessary to get a good photo.

Dogs of this breed can be laid out in a frame into elements - and this will also be unusual and attractive.

The result of long-term filming are wonderful photographs.

Sometimes it happens that a fleeting photo taken outside of work turns out to be no less interesting than an exhibition one.

Weimaraners are royal dogs, there's no denying it.

But a special corner in William Wegman's heart is occupied by the glorious Man Ray, who changed the man's view of photography and devotedly loved and worked with the owner for 11 years.
