Alabai
The Central Asian Shepherd Dog (Alabai) is a cross between Tibetan Mastiffs, Central Asian herding dogs, and Mongolian Shepherd Dogs. Alabai were bred through natural selection to guard caravans and homes. The breed was officially classified in 1993, and a new standard was introduced in 2010.

Around six thousand years ago, the people who inhabited what is now Central Asia needed dogs to guard their livestock. For this purpose, they bred mastiffs, the ancestors of the Turkmen wolfhound.
